The first chickens arrived

Our four new chickens seem to be happy in their new home, three off them have already a name.

Florence's chicken is called Curry( I wonder why)
Ade's chicken is called Ginger and I named my chicken Betsy.

Amelia still has to come and give here chicken a name.

There are 2 more chickens to come, linda has to think off a name for here's and maybe Max will give the other chicken a name?

Spring Is In The Air

Spring is well and truly in the air here at No 20, everything is getting a spring clean.

Firstly the local pigeons like to use the pond filter as a bath.

Then Ade cleaned the windows

Then moved about 3 tonnes of rockery stone around the pond, as you can see its taking shape nicely with the plan to build a waterfall at some point in the future. The bonsai trees are looking good and fit in nicely with the pond.

Its a big day tomorrow as we hope to get the first chickens in the run, we finished it today and are very pleased with the results, pictures tomorrow of the hen house and its new residents.

Feeding time @ No20

Back Home after a few days away and still lots to do, whilst most of the hard work has been done we still have plenty to sort out here at No 20.

Florence spent the whole day with us on Wednesday, she is growing up fast and has cut some teeth and is not far from walking, like her Grand dad she has a healthy appetite.

Talking about healthy appetite the fish seem to be suffering no ill effects from their short trip across Norwich, the pond looks well and the water quality is good.

The fish are also feeding very well and Tjitske had them feeding out of her hands this afternoon.

Time To Slow Down and Enjoy Life For A Few Days

Having been flat out since December its time we all took a few days to slow down and relax.

A BIG BIG Thanks to all those who have helped us get this far you know who you are and we appreciate your help so much.

To those who continue to make life hard for us, have a look through the blog and see what we have achieved even if you haven't been honest with us or more importantly yourself, sorry to be negative but one or two people need to grow up a bit and take a long hard look at themselves.

Rant over, one thing that has kept us going through all of this is Little Florence who just gets more grown up and responsive every day, we are both looking forward to looking after her more in the next few weeks.

Time for a rest

Tjitske has just returned from a short trip to Holland to catch up with Linda and her boyfriend Folkert, it was Linda's 15th Birthday, Tjitske was glad of the break after all her hard work over the last few weeks.

We hope this week to have a days fishing if the weather gets a bit warmer, it would be nice to have a bit of a rest.

Fish and Fings

Ade moved the last of the fish over this week, last to be moved were the barbel and bream, the bream has been in Ade's pond for many years and looks in fine health.

The biggest 2 barbel are about 5 years old and are the most amazing colours and look in excellent condition, the 2 smaller fish are nearly 3 years old and have doubled in size in the last few months, all moved over well in tanks with plenty of oxygen pumped into the water and didn't seem any worse for the 10 minute journey.

Here at No 20 we are very lucky to have great neighbours, we have already formed a good friendship with Melody and Paul, with Paul helping Ade with some wood work so when the cement mixer turned up with 10 tonnes of concrete for the foundations of their new extension it was all hands to the wheel barrows to get it moved and laid.
