Wednesday is Florence Day
Every Wednesday Florence comes to stay for the day, today we have had a great day, feeding the chucks and the fish playing bee-boo and generally doing the things grand parents love to do with their grandchildren.

A chicken with a posh name.
Ade's sister Angie came with her daughter Rachel and her grandchildren Amelia and baby brother Noah to visit us.
Amelia had to give here chicken a name, we called her Blue Bell but Amelia thought that Blue Bell Pippin was a much better name for the chicken.

Thank you Amelia , Blue Bell Pippin is very happy with her name.
And as a surprise we had Tuesday our first egg, Wednesday we had our second egg, we made a sandwich, ham and eggs and it was delicious .

Easter Eggs Wanted
As the chickens have yet to lay their first eggs we are in bad need of some eggs for easter breakfast!!
The chickens continue to grow well and are developing their own characters and destroying parts of the garden as they grow, but as yet we await the first eggs, but with the nest boxes at the ready and some egg boxes empty on the shelf watch this space.

At the bottom of the garden attached to the shed was a long disused nest box, but this year after feeding the birds through the harsh winter we have managed to get a pair of tits to make their home in the old nest box, for the last few weeks they have been building the nest and and preparing for the upcoming young.
With this winter only just over Ade has been busy splitting logs and preparing a stock of wood for next winter, our log burner heats the whole house and the warming glow of a log fire takes some beating.
